Lessons From the Journey
Three founders, one plain realization. People were worn out by shopping.
Back in 2019, we spotted something that's obvious once it clicks. Amsterdam is full of clothing shops, but tracking down affordable basics that hold together? Finding shoes built for real commuting rather than just Instagram? That wasn't happening. We'd chat with friends, coworkers, people at the tram stop — the same gripe again and again. They'd make do with whatever was on offer, then grumble about it afterward.
So we began modestly. We didn't set up harbvio B.V. to be flashy. We set it up to be useful. We zeroed in on quality basics — cotton tees that survive the wash, jeans that fit actual bodies, sneakers you can really walk in all day. We sourced from makers who weren't slapping designer markup on decent goods. We paid attention when customers told us "I need this in another color" or "This fabric doesn't work for me."
It wasn't groundbreaking, but it worked. People kept coming back. Not because we were the cheapest (though we are affordable), but because we understood. We knew you don't want to burn an hour hunting for a grey t-shirt. You want one that fits, feels good, lasts, and doesn't cost a week's groceries.
These days we've got hundreds of regulars all over Amsterdam. People confident in what they're buying. That's the thing we're proudest of — not how big our inventory is, but the fact that you'll genuinely wear what you buy from us.
